The Netherlands has this habit of producing good bands and A New Dawn is one of those bands. This release offers a melodic feast of music coupled with some monstrous riffs. Fronted by two ladies offering clean vocals, this seven piece outfit is a very good band capable of writing good music at a very high level. Clearly, A New Dawn’s music is heavy and indeed rises above the mainstream Female Fronted Metal Bands. And with the addition of a grunter, Mike van den Heuvel, they sure do stand out! Cost is £10

A New Dawn isn’t really new. They’ve actually been around since 1998 in one form or another. With clean and growl vocals, this Beauty and the Beast approach serves as the focus of A New Dawn and carries through much of the music presented here. And the beast vocals actually being offered up are by a female (Monica Janssen)! And, as B and B bands go, this one is pretty damn good. They’re Dutch of course, and utilize a style found in numerous western European bands, even if the composition is a little unique. The sound, however, is pretty much mainstream metal, with a few twists. Cost is £10

One of the Midland's (UK) top Female Fronted Gothic Metal Bands, Apparition has been around since 1997. This CD looks back at their past, with some unreleased material added in for good measure. The Cost - £9

Arapacis was formed by guitarist Jerry Fielden in Montreal, Canada, in 2003 with the goal of fusing together 70's hard rock and prog with modern gothic, prog and doom metal to form a unique metal fusion, hence they cite their influences as Deep Purple to Rush to Leaves Eyes to Dream Theater to Candlemass, quite a portfolio. This is their third album, following on from 'So Many Leapers' in 2006 and 2009's 'Consequences of Dreams'. Throughout the album Jerry provides lashing of expert shredding, and in Lizzie they have a unique, stunning and outstanding singer. £10 will get you this awesome album.

'Gossamer Witchcraft' sees the start of what looks like a very promising career for Russian Gothic Metal Band Blackthorn. Their debut album presents a combination of styles inc Gothic Metal, Black Metal and Classical Music. Blackthorn have set a new standard for female extreme metal. Powerplay Magazine says: "On the whole, this is a strong debut offering from a band that is sure to gather a large fan base from around the world 7/10." Cost - £10.00

Symphonic Metal from the USA. Cassandra Syndrome is the intimate leader of darkness and seduction. Give it a listen, and then wait to be darkened and seduced! Cool - £10

'Aurora Core' is the follow up to Cinemuerte's 2006 album 'Born from Ashes', and I must say that 'Aurora Core' is a totally awesome release, with mixing and mastering by Waldemar Sorychta. Modern alternative Melodic Rock. Powerplay Magazine says: "Overall 'Aurora Core' is a pleasing album. Rock as it should be, dirty, sexy and topped off with huge melodies. 7/10." The cost - £7.00

Dama was founded by beautiful singer, lyricist and composer Barbara Schera Vanoli and drummer/arranger Pierfrancesco Tarantino around Milan in Italy. The name Dama, or Lady in English, was inspired by Barbara's love of the great gothic cathedrals such as Notre Dame (Our Lady), and the album title Eirwen is the name of the fantasy land created by Barbara's imagination. Their style is lavish romantic symphonic gothic metal, similar to Silent Force Within Temptation, Stream of Passion and Rawkfist, but with a unique Latin flavour. This double cd of songs in English and beautiful Italian is awesome, with heavy digital sales already being reported one week after the digital release (cdbaby, iTunes etc)! Catchy rock songs that will be banging around in your head long after the cd has left the player. This album by Lisa and her band is a very fine effort indeed and we are proud to be associated with this band. Femme Metal Webzine says: "All-in-all, 'What Lies Beneath' is an extremely satisfying release from this great Canadian band. The songs are brimming with confidence and attitude and as a whole Damsel Fly have released an album that is very well done, and should come as a welcome addition to fans who love melodic hard rock..85/100" Can be bought here for £7.00

The target of Deva's album could be split into two different categories: on one side the faithful listeners of prog metal (from Dream Theater to Nightwish) would appreciate it, on the other side those who appraise female vocals, both opera and modern would love it. Powerplay Zine here in the UK rates the cd highly giving it a 9/10. So get it here at just £10

Edenial from Chile offers up 12 tracks of accessible rock/metal, and some rather catchy stuff at that too. This album was recorded at the back end of 2009, and is now available in the UK via Ravenheart Music for just £9.00

Evil's Desire is a symphonic/gothic metal band, founded in 2005 by the members of the Dutch heavy metal band Violent Queen. Evil`s Desire was first introduced to the public in 2005 during the pop festival 'Wallenpop' in Hellevoetsluis. The band received positive reviews of their performance. After this once and only performance the band started to develop itself with the arrival of two new musicians: lead vocalist Daphne Gobius du Sart and keyboardist Johan Seinen in 2006. Since 2007 the band has been hitting the stage a lot with one of the highlights being Wallenpop 2008. At the end of 2008 Evil`s Desire joined a collaboration of 5 dutch metal bands by the name of Six Pack of Dutch Metal. In October 2010 the band signed with Ravenheart music and the album which has already picked up an awesome review in Fireworks Zine, is available here for £10.

'Confessions' by Faces of March picked up an awesome 9/10 review in Powerplay Magazine - "fantastic examples of how modern rock can be both heavy and melodic" says the zine. A cool release, certainly one for fans of Evanescence, We Are The Fallen and Paramore. Get it here for £10! SOLD OUT

This new album from Highlight Kenosis sees the band refine and define their sound – a mixture of Krypteria, Guano Apes, Goldfrapp and No Doubt, to create their unique brand of ultra infectious metal with some prog leanings, swaying from pop-rock hooks to soaring choruses to dynamic rocking. If you like your metal as catchy as a Velcro, but beautifully and skilfully performed, then 'Change' will be a real highlight. £10.00

An up and coming act from Malta offering a dose of awesome Industrial Rock & Metal. Ravenheart Music has imported these cds exclusively, and is well worth the £10 outlay for you metal heads out there.

'Truth Telling' by Inspirition is a mix of Soft Rock, Jazz, Ambient, Pop and Alternative, all mixed up into 15 tracks of luscious music. It is here for £10.

Maledia is a symphonic gothic band from Italy. Their music is reminiscent of Tarja era Nightwish at their most gothic, especially in the interplay between the operatic lead vocals of Loo and the male vocals of guitarist Daniele. A pounding melodic sounding recording that will appeal to fans of female fronted rock and metal music. The track Obscura may please fans who enjoy the more extreme vocal approach however! £10.00

'Hot! Hot! Hot!' is the fifth album from this Belgium band and the second one with a female voice (Virginia Fantoni). This new album was entirely recorded in the Manic Studio, which allowed the band's musicians to define their sound and pursue their ideas. The compositions combine the power of the guitars, the width of symphonic orchestrations, a crystalline voice and a tight rhythm section. There is only ONE copy left of this awesome cd by this popular band. £12.00

Only Fate Remains consist of 5 band members and each of these band members enjoys his or her own musical routes. They all however, share a passion for creating strong melodies. Fronted by Eva Kokken, Only Fate Remains offers the listener a Rock/Metal experience, influenced by Gothic, Atmospheric, Melodic and Progressive perspectives. The cost is just £10 for this potentially epic CD!

'OUT OF TIME' is Rott's debut full length cd now available via this website. The cd features slow and mid paced rockers, coupled with the distinctive and somewhat innocent vocal style of Molly Sirenne. Couple this with Dan Profitt's crunching guitar riffs, and this is one helluva release. Femme Metal Webzine says: "The music on 'Out Of Time' speaks volumes about Rott's potential. Whether or not they put Idaho on the metal map remains to be seen, but I do know that Rott appear poised to carve their own niche in the metal world, and judging by the music eminating from this CD, they are off to a good start. 7.5/10". The music on Sakara's album echoes her forays into gothic rock, metal, and industrial. Kinda Siouxsie and the Banshees, Kate Bush, Lahannya, and Caamora, with an mystical eastern vibe that befits her name. Sakara has an outstanding versatile voice that ranges from pop to rock to high semi operatic to low gothic, quite extraordinary. Expect painstakingly constructed layers of guitars, synths, samples, atmospheric effects and custom built rhythms and tribal beats. This is damn cool! £10

This album by Storyum is a tremendous crossover album, if you like pop/punk/alt/classic rock and the lighter end of melodic metal, then you will find loads of enjoyment here. Buy it for a tenner! (£10)

The Mary Major rose from the ashes of the well known Napalm band Beseech, and here we have their second album of Melodic Hard Rock to grace our death decks.
